CSA Programme (Community Supported Agriculture)
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. The premise is CSA members, or subscribers, pay at the beginning of the growing season for a share of the anticipated harvest. One harvesting begins CSA members receive a box of organically grow produce fresh from the farm!
Thanks to our climate we're able to offer 3 sessions for out CSA programme. These sessions last for 9 weeks with the first session beginning in November*
We offer a small and medium share as well as the option to add an egg and/or chicken share to your bag each week. With an egg share you will receive 1 dozen of our fresh eggs. A chicken share adds 1 chicken to your share - you can pick between a whole chicken or one that has been broken down for you.
Pick up is available at the farm or Saturday mornings at St. Paul's Church in Paget.
What is in a CAS bag?
Your bags may include the following*
Various types of carrots, onion, swiss chard, spinach, kale, potatoes, red and/or green cabbage, lettuces, broccoli, cauliflower, collards, turnips, radish, squash, beets, various herbs, tomatoes, peppers, okra, eggplant, bok choy, corn and green beans.
Will I get all of those veggies each week?
No. Your CSA will be filled with what we are harvesting at the time. We do our best to make sure you're getting a wide variety of what we have growing every week.
Can I customize the veggies I receive?
No. We are not able to accommodate individual orders and substitutions in your CSA bag. You're welcome to visit our shop and select from all that we have to offer.
Is the money refundable?
No. The premise behind a CSA is that you're investing in the harvest at the beginning of the season. Your CSA subscription helps us with the seeds, fertilizer, feed, packaging and labor that goes into growing
What if I go off island/can't pick up my bag?
If you cannot pick up your bag is is up to you to find somebody who can. Please make arrangements (Friend? neighbor? family member?) for someone to eat your veggies while you're away.
